Physiatrists tend to a wide variety of conditions affecting the nerves, the spine, the bones, joints, ligaments and tendons. It is a requirement for physiatrists to complete training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Getting to Know your Physiatrist

Advance Sports and Spine is Charlotte, NC’s is a sports medicine practice that focuses on back and neck pain, arthritis, accident, and sports injuries. We are home to one of the best physiatrists in the Charlotte area who can guarantee his patients excellent physiatric service to alleviate pain.

Dr. Usman Ahmad is a board certified physiatrist specializing in interventional sports and spine medicine.

He has completed his Residency Training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (which is the training needed by a physiatrist before being able to practice) at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital and completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal medicine and interventional pain management at the Center for Advanced Pain Management and Rehabilitation in New Jersey.

In line with our advanced technology, Dr. Ahmad makes use of both fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided spine and joint injections.
