Hip Impingement Rehabilitation Exercises

Hip impingement, also known as femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), causes pain in the front of the hip, especially during activities like prolonged sitting.

We help patients with hip impingement rehabilitation exercises in Charlotte and Huntersville, NC, to relieve pain and strengthen the surrounding muscles for better joint support.

Hip Flexor Stretch

Kneel on one of your knees with the other foot in front. Shift your hips forward gently while keeping your trunk upright. You should feel a stretch at the front of your hip on the kneeling side. Hold for 20–30 seconds and repeat on both sides.

Hip Bridges

Lie on your back with knees bent and feet on the floor. Press through your heels to lift your hips toward the ceiling until your shoulders, hips, and knees form a straight line. Hold briefly, then lower back down. Aim for 10–15 repetitions.
