A one-on-one evaluation
Plan on about an hour. A physician reviews your records and imaging, examines you in person and finds the source of the pain.

Meet Your Physicians
A physiatrist is a physician who specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation: diagnosing and treating pain in the spine, joints, muscles and nerves without surgery.
Dr. Usman Ahmad, DO
Board-certified physiatrist with fellowship training in interventional sports and spine medicine. Has provided non-surgical, non-opioid pain care across Charlotte, Huntersville and Fort Mill since 2016.
Dr. David Ciaccia, DO
Board-certified physiatrist with fellowship training in interventional spine management. Specializes in fluoroscopic spine procedures, EMG and nerve conduction studies, and ultrasound-guided joint care.

What insurance do you accept?
We accept Medicare, NC Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Tricare, Coventry, Cigna, Humana, UnitedHealthcare and workers' compensation, and we handle the billing for you. If your plan isn't listed, call us and we'll check. Co-pays are due on the day of your visit.
Do I need a referral?
Usually not. Most patients book with us directly. If your plan does require a referral, our team will help you sort it out before your visit.
How quickly can I be seen?
Most new patients are seen within the same week, and sometimes as early as the next day. It depends on physician availability and how quickly your insurance can be verified.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Bring your completed paperwork if you can, an up-to-date medication list, any X-rays or MRIs, and records of treatment you've already had for this problem, such as physical therapy, injections or chiropractic care.
Will I see the same doctor each time?
Yes. Unlike clinics where you rotate between providers, you see the same physician at every visit, so your care stays consistent.
Why are there no facility fees?
We are an independent private practice, not owned by a hospital system. Procedures are performed in our own offices, so you don't pay the facility fee a hospital adds for the same procedure.
The benefits of regenerative medicine, including PRP and stem cell therapy, have not been reviewed or approved by the FDA.
